House Painters in Coventry

Freshly painted home interior with a garden view in Coventry by Godiva Decorators

Godiva Decorators connects Coventry homeowners with a trusted local house painter, covering Coventry and its surrounding premium suburbs, including Earlsdon, Styvechale, Kenilworth, and Royal Leamington Spa.

  • Full interior repaints across all rooms and floors
  • Complete exterior repaints covering masonry, woodwork, and metalwork
  • Combined interior and exterior projects managed as a single programme
  • Period properties with original plaster, cornicing, and timber joinery
  • Pre-sale whole-house preparations

Over a decade of work on Coventry properties means your decorator understands how both sides of a house need to be approached. Cheylesmore’s 1930s-50s interwar semis are typical whole-house repaint commissions. The construction mix of post-war rendered walls and original joinery means two different preparation approaches run in parallel.

We were looking at painting our house and found Ryan, who gave us a competitive quote and did fantastic job. Great work ethic and time management was good too. Would highly recommend his service. He also managed all the clear out all the furniture and put them back in order.

Highly recommend these decorators. Ryan decorated whole house which the tenant had left in an awful state of repair including vintage denim colour in hallway and halfway up the stairs and landing presumably just to where she could reach.
The place is now like a new house.
I am immensely grateful for his expertise and dedication regarding his work.
Definitely recommend.

  • You deal with them directly for the work itself and for the guarantee that backs it.

We make the introduction and stay on hand; they do the work and stand behind it.

House Painting Services

Your decorator manages whole-house projects covering interior, exterior, and period property work as a single coordinated programme.

Full Interior Repaint

A whole-house interior repaint covers every room from top floor to ground floor. Your decorator paints ceilings, walls, and all woodwork including skirting boards, architraves, door frames, and picture rails. Pricing a whole house as one job is explained on the page about whole house decorating in Coventry.

Period properties in Earlsdon and Kenilworth require careful preparation at every stage. For the full detail on interior work, see our interior painting page.

Exterior Walls and Woodwork

A full exterior repaint covers masonry, rendered walls, timber windows, fascias, soffits, gutters, and front door. These are typically done in sequence, working from the top of the building down.

For the full detail on exterior work, see our exterior painting page.

Coordinated Schedule

Interior and exterior work on the same property requires coordination. Drying times for exterior coatings must be respected.

Your decorator plans the order of work at the quotation stage. The schedule is agreed before any brush touches a surface.

Period Properties

Earlsdon Victorian and Edwardian terraces, Styvechale’s large detached properties, and Kenilworth’s premium period stock all have original features that need individual attention.

Your decorator works on period properties regularly. The preparation methods and paint systems differ from modern construction.

Pre-Sale Preparation

A freshly decorated house presents better in photographs and at viewings. Your decorator works to tight timescales when properties are going to market. Which rooms repay the spend is covered on the page about decorating before selling.

Interior and exterior are coordinated to completion before the property is listed.

The House Painting Process

1. Site Visit and Scoping

Your decorator visits the property and assesses both interior and exterior surfaces. Your decorator agrees the full scope, flags any repair work needed, and discusses the sequence of trades.

2. Preparation Phase

Interior prep runs first while the exterior dries from any cleaning or repair work. Surfaces are primed, cracks are filled, and period features are checked.

3. Exterior Application

Masonry, woodwork, and metalwork are painted in sequence from the top down. Your decorator works around the weather forecast. Two finish coats are standard.

4. Interior Application

Each room is completed from ceiling to skirting board. Ceilings first, walls second, woodwork last. The same logic across a whole house is on the page about what order to decorate a house in. Each coat gets adequate drying time.

5. Final Check and Walkthrough

Your decorator inspects the complete property, interior and exterior, before closing. Touch-ups are completed and you walk through the finished work with your decorator.

House Painting Costs in Coventry

Prices below are estimates only. Every property is different. Call 024 7542 6652 for a precise quote.

Decorating in progress with ladder and paint kettles on site in Coventry by Godiva Decorators (in progress)

What Drives the Price

Property size. A 2-bed post-war terrace in Canley has considerably less wall area than a 4-bed Kenilworth detached. More area means more materials and more time.

Surface condition. Properties that have not been decorated for many years need more preparation.

Combined or staged. Combining interior and exterior in one project is more efficient than staging them separately.

Typical Ranges

  • Post-war terrace (Canley, 1940s-60s, interior and exterior): £3,700 to £5,600.
  • 1940s semi-detached (Cheylesmore, interior and exterior): £4,500 to £7,000.
  • Victorian detached (Kenilworth, 4-5 bed, period features): £9,500 to £15,500.

Trade Insight

Cheylesmore interwar semis often need both interior and exterior at the same time. Doing both together avoids double setup costs and produces a consistent finish on a property that looks renewed throughout.
