How Wallpaper Hanging Works, Step by Step
Five stages take a room from the first visit to finished walls.

Site Visit and Assessment
Ryan visits the room, checks the wall surface and talks through your choice of paper. He advises whether lining paper is needed.

Surface Preparation
Walls are cleaned and any repairs are made good. Where lining paper is needed, it is hung first and left to dry fully.

Pattern Planning
Ryan finds the centre of the wall and sets the pattern position from there. The first length is hung plumb, meaning straight up and down.

Hanging
Ryan cuts and pastes each length. Where the paper needs it, he folds it paste side to paste side so it can soak. The trade calls this booking. Each length is then smoothed from the centre outward to push out bubbles.

Trimming and Finishing
Lengths are trimmed at the ceiling, skirting board and cornice line, and switches and sockets are cut around cleanly.
