Kitchen Cabinet Painting Services
We refinish kitchen cabinets using spray application, delivering factory-quality results on solid wood and MDF doors.
Spray-Painted Doors
Cabinet doors are removed, cleaned, degreased, and spray-painted off-site in a dust-free environment. The spray finish delivers even coverage and a smooth surface that brush and roller technique cannot replicate.
Each door gets a primer coat suited to the material, followed by two finish coats. Doors are reinstalled once the finish has cured fully.
Solid Wood vs MDF Cabinets
Solid wood and MDF cabinet doors require different preparation. Solid wood has natural grain that needs filling and sanding for a smooth finish. MDF is more consistent but has a porous face that needs the right primer.
Kenilworth Victorian and Edwardian kitchen cabinets are frequently solid wood with raised panel detail. We preserve the profile at every stage of preparation.
Colour Selection
Cabinet colour transforms a kitchen. We advise on colours that work with the kitchen layout, worktop material, and tile choices.
We provide sample colour cards at the site visit. The colour is confirmed in writing before any work begins.
Cabinet Painting vs Replacement
A full kitchen refit in a Coventry property typically costs £8,000 to £25,000. Cabinet respraying costs a fraction of that and produces a result that reads as new.
For projects that involve broader kitchen or living area changes, see our home renovation page.
Worktops and Carcasses
Carcasses and visible end panels can be painted to match the door colour. Worktop upstands and splashback areas adjacent to the cabinets can be prepared and coated where the surface is compatible.
We advise at the site visit on which ancillary surfaces can be painted effectively and which cannot.

Our Cabinet Painting Process
1. Site Visit and Assessment
We visit the kitchen, assess all cabinet door materials and conditions, confirm the colour choice, and agree the scope.
2. Door Removal
Doors and drawer fronts are removed carefully. Hardware is removed and stored. Carcasses are masked to protect the kitchen interior.
3. Surface Preparation
Doors are degreased, sanded, and primed with the correct primer for the material type. Solid wood grain is filled and sanded smooth where a flat finish is specified.
4. Spray Finish
Two topcoats are applied in a controlled environment. Each coat cures fully before the next. The finish is inspected under raking light before reinstallation.
5. Reinstallation and Adjustment
Doors are rehung and adjusted for level and gap consistency. Hardware is refitted. We inspect the complete kitchen before leaving.

Kitchen Cabinet Painting Costs in Coventry
Prices below are estimates only. Every kitchen is different. Call 024 7542 6652 for a precise quote.

What Drives the Price
Door count. A small kitchen with ten doors costs less than a large kitchen with twenty. We count doors and drawer fronts at the site visit and price per unit.
Material and condition. Solid wood doors with raised panel detail need more preparation than flat MDF doors.
Finish specification. A standard satin finish is the most economical. A high-gloss two-pack finish costs more but is more durable.
Typical Ranges
- Small kitchen (10-12 doors, MDF): £1,200 to £1,800.
- Medium kitchen (16-18 doors, mixed solid wood and MDF): £1,800 to £2,800.
- Large kitchen with solid wood doors (Kenilworth Edwardian detached): £2,000 to £3,500.
Trade Insight
Kenilworth Edwardian kitchen cabinets in solid wood are frequently worth respraying rather than replacing. The original solid wood quality is better than most modern factory units. A respray restores them to a condition that could last another twenty years.
